Causes of low back pain

In most cases of low back pain, sprain in muscle, ligament tear or strain or slip disc are the causative factors. Besides age related degeneration, pain due to Facet joint syndrome caused due to osteoarthritis and trauma causing injury to spine are known to cause severe pain in lower back. In many severe cases of slip disc, the vertebrae keep pressing the nerves causing nerve impingement and may lead to sciatica in which patients experience shooting pain that radiates into the legs.

In most of the cases of low back pain, doctors advise rest, oral medication and physiotherapy to restore early mobilization. However, if patients do not respond to conservative management, should consult a pain management clinic Singapore like our renowned Specialist Pain International that is well equipped with pain specialists, orthopedics, neuro surgeons and physiotherapists with ultra modern technology.
