Are You Trying to Quit Smoking? Make The Switch to Vaping

By now, we all know that it is extremely hard to quit smoking cigarettes. You may have decided to quit smoking because your loved one does not like the smell or you are worried about the severe health risks. Is it embarrassing to go back to work knowing your coworkers can smell the cigarette smoke on your clothes? Whatever the reason you decided to quit, vaping is an excellent alternative solution.

Reduce Withdrawal Symptoms

When you quit smoking, you will start experiencing withdrawal. Nicotine is highly addictive. You may find that you are agitated over little things and easily stressed. You may turn to eating food, and chewing on toothpicks, but still cannot break the craving. You can purchase vape juice with different levels of nicotine to stop the withdrawal symptoms. If you smoke half a pack a day, they will suggest a lower nicotine level than if you are used to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day.

The Physical Habit

When you smoke a cigarette, you have to light it, bring it to your lips, and pull the smoke into your lungs. Patches and gums do not simulate this motion. Did you know the physical act of smoking is addicting? When you switch to vaping, whether you choose an e-juice with or without nicotine, it will help curb the cravings because you will be bringing the vape to your mouth and inhaling. Alternative options like patches and gum do not reenact this motion.

The Research

According to the British Heart Foundation and a recent article by the BBC, smokers can improve the health of their hearts by switching to vaping and e-cigarettes. The case study followed 114 smokers. They found that the chemicals in a cigarette are detrimental to your arteries. The chemicals narrow the arteries by increasing fatty deposits. Narrowed arteries greatly increase the risk of deadly blockage. According to their findings, smoking doubles your risk of a heart attack. To determine whether switching to vaping or e-cigarettes is better for your health than smoking, they studied the arteries of the 114 smokers once they made the switch.

The researchers closely documented the flow-mediation dilation. In layman’s terms, this means they studied the expansion of the blood vessels or arteries when blood passed through them. They found that healthy non-smokers had an average score of 7.7% while smokers had a score of 5.5%. When the smokers switched to vaping for a month, they had a score of 6.7% indicating a healthier flow-mediation dilation and reducing their risk of a heart attack.
